The MDabstract team prides itself on providing exceptional quality and accuracy of data to our customers.

Through EHR migrations, discrete data abstraction, electronic filing and quality reporting services, we ensure providers have critical information at the point of care to facilitate high-quality, cost-effective health outcomes.
Are you passionate about helping others, always willing to learn, and security conscious? If this is you, we are looking for dedicated clinical data specialists who possess a drive for quality with self-directed attention to detail. We welcome you to please submit your resume below.
Kristi Payne, Chief Operations Officer, daily leverages expertise from 25+ years in health care to develop EHR migration and discrete data mining solutions for MDabstract’s Health System, Hospital and Provider partners. A licensed nurse by training, she has spent the last decade using her clinical background to impact health care business operations.
As a founder of MDabstract, Kristi has overseen the company’s significant growth and successful partnership of over 200+ EHR migrations across multiple platforms, National ACO/MSSP reporting initiatives and many other “discrete data capture” projects. From her vast knowledge in EHR adaption, clinical workflow, revenue cycle management and reporting initiatives she delivers unparalleled transparency to each client on their unique needs and devises impactful solutions that result in successful cost effective migrations, reclaimed provider productivity, maximized efficiencies and long-term clinical documentation improvement. True client partnerships are her ultimate goal.
Before forming MDabstract in 2010, Kristi worked with industry leaders United Health Care and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida on cost containment and network development. She joined Jacksonville Heart Center, now Baptist Heart Specialists, in 2000 as the Business Office Manager with a primary focus on Revenue Cycle, Payer Market Utilization Management, and Contract Negotiation and transitioned into the role of Systems Manager to oversee EHR implementation, training and programming.
Kristi, along with her husband Dan and their 3 children reside in St. Augustine, FL.
Shae Walker began her career in the cardiology field over 20 years ago. The majority of which were spent in varying managerial roles within the Jacksonville Heart Center, a Cardiology practice that was based in Jacksonville Florida. Shae began her managerial career in clinical finance overseeing a team of Accounts Receivable and Charge Entry staff. The position continued to evolve over the years to include Medical Coding, Scheduling, and Compliance departments.
In 2012, Jacksonville Heart Center and Southern Heart Group integrated with Baptist Health to form Baptist Heart Center where Shae continued to provide service for a team of 38 physicians. During the integration she served as the billing and coding consultant and then developed the protocol, reporting and training program for BHS’s physicians. She oversaw the merging of two scheduling and authorization departments into one Centralized Scheduling program for all BHS providers. In total, she was directly responsible for a staff of schedulers, referral coordinators and certified coders. Her Coding program has since been used by Baptist Health as a model for their employed physician groups.
In 2014, Shae received a unique opportunity to work with Medaxiom, a cardiovascular consulting firm, as a Revenue Cycle Analyst. Shae’s primary function was to assist physicians with audits to identify potential under and over coding, documentation inefficiencies, and gaps in the revenue cycle. It was during this season of her career that Shae realized the common denominator that drew her into all of the positions that she had ever held. The common denominator was regulatory, which is not surprising for someone that describes herself as a task oriented individual that lives by policy, protocol, and doing the right thing.
Shae’s current position with MDabstract is Operations and Regulatory Affairs Director where she is responsible for protocol development, compliance, IT security, and account operations for MDabstract. Shae also provides oversight of the Senior Management team in project management.
Credentialing includes Certified Professional Compliance Officer, Professional Medical Auditor, Evaluation and Management Coder, NextGen EHR Certified Professional and a member of the American Academy of Professional Coders. Shae lives in Jacksonville, FL with her 2 children and her husband.
Amanda has been a member of the MDabstract team since shortly after the organizations founding; following more than 14 years in the cardiovascular field.
Amanda began her career with the American Heart Association where she discovered her love for patients’ stories and the amazing science used to save lives. Her move to Jacksonville Heart Center (now Baptist Heart Specialists) allowed her to focus daily on clinical and physician operations as well as be responsible for referral volume growth, marketing opportunities and physician relations.
In her current role, Amanda works to develop relationship in the Healthcare ecosystem to further MDabstract’s mission of providing expert level data and documentation managed services for the benefit of patients, providers, and healthcare organizations.
Amanda is a native of Jacksonville, FL, and attended college at The Florida State University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in political science and history. She and her husband have 2 beautifully destructive little girls and enjoy camping, boating on the St. John’s River, and, in the fall, attending Florida State football games.
