Pamela Ramos Rama, M.D., F.A.C.C.

MDabstract Medical Director

Pamela Rama, MD is the Medical Director of MDabstract. As a former Chief of Staff at Baptist Medical Center Beaches in Jacksonville, FL, Dr. Rama is a cardiologist with over 20 years of experience in preventive cardiology with a specialty in women and heart disease.

As a partner of Jacksonville Heart Center, a 18 provider cardiology group Dr. Rama gained extensive knowledge of practice management and internal efficiencies. Now as a member of the Hospital integrated Baptist Heart Specialists, she has continued to use her wide-ranging expertise in the development of MDabstract’s Certified Abstractor training program and ongoing Quality Assurance protocols.

Dr. Rama serves as the President of the Board of Director’s for the First Coast Division of the American Heart Association as well as a Member of the AHA Greater Southeast Affiliate’s Board of Directors. She is a Member of the Dean’s Council for the University of North Florida Brook’s College of Health and serves on the Board of Directors for the Florida Chapter of the American College of Cardiology.  She was awarded the Health Award by the Women of Color Cultural Foundation, was recognized as one of the 75 most influential people in Jacksonville Healthcare by Jacksonville Magazine and was the Harper’s Bazaar Fabulous At Any Age Award recipient in 2016.

Born and raised in the Philippines, she graduated from the University of the Philippines and received her doctor of medicine for the University of the East MMC. She finished her residency in internal medicine at the Roger Williams Hospital and completed her fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Brown University.

Dr. Rama is married to a physician and together they have 4 wonderful children and one adorable grandson.
